The IVAC™ PCAM™ syringe pump is designed for improved management of acute postoperative pain, providing the clinician with instant and detailed bedside information about the patient's use of the pump. Simple to operate and quick to programme with PCA protocols that can be user modified for each individual patient's needs. Providing a large comprehensive display that shows PCA protocol in use, graphical analysis of the patient's treatment, dose infused, dose remaining, pressure reading with alarm level and lock out time remaining. The unit automatically dims at night to reduce patient intrusion. The IVAC™ PCAM™ syringe pump can also deliver a continuous background dose facility as well as the PCA dose. The security in the pump is provided by a programming key that can be removed, a clinician over-ride button and a lockable cover over the syringe.
• Strong and Secure Cover - Very strong polycarbonate cover provides a clear view of the syringe while preventing unauthorised access to the syringe and its content. • Large Illuminated Display - The full text graphic clearly indicates the PCA protocol in use, provides graphic analysis of the patient's treatment and information on any alarms which may occur. The illumination automatically dims to prevent disturbing the patient at night. • Clinician Over-Ride - An entry code protected facility allows the clinician to administer an additional PCA dose at any time including during the normal lock-out period. Both the PCA dose, and the duration over which it is to be administered can be programmed. • Patient Hand Set - The unique electronic hand set is easy to operate and comfortable to hold for both adults and children.
A clear indicator on the hand set can be configured to tell the patient when PCA is available or being administered. The design provides high levels of security against accidental operation.
