Guys, forgive me for not taking the time to search through this topic to look for the information that I need, but my nerves are worn thin and I just don't have the energy. I bought a Hextronik HXT 036 ESC along with their 'USB programming stick'.

Much to my amazement, there was not one tidbit of information with either item. Nothing, nada, zip, zilch. No instructions at all. I managed to find Hextronik's web site and download what I though was the instrucions on how to program the ESC manually, using my transmitter. I've done this before with my Castle Creation ESC's and had no problems at all. Unfortunately, it didn't work for the Hextronik. The instructions that I downloaded must have been for a different ESC The beeps that my ESC was making was no where near what the instructions were telling me to look for.

I couldn't even get started. As far as the Hextronik USB programming stick-after just coming off of some interesting computer problems, excuse me, but I'm a little hesitant to just stick something into my computer when I don't have one lick of information as to how it works. It mentions programming information, do you download that somewhere? Do you just connect the USB stick to your ESC, put on a battery and plug it into a USB port on your computer? Can anyone please help me and tell me how to go about programming this thing? I'm thinking I made a big mistake by trying to save a few dollars.

Go to and click on the link 'HXT Pro Series BESC Software and Document Bundle' to download a zip file which includes a manual with stick programming instructions. Also in the archive is a setup program which installs a driver for the USB key, and an application 'hexTronik config' for programming the ESC from a PC. The USB key appears to be a simple USB to Serial converter (when I ran the config application it tried to connect via COM4: which is my modem). However, I do NOT recommend running the setup program unless you first back up your Windows operating system files. On my computer it replaced 9 essential system files with Windows XP Chinese versions - which was completely fatal because I am running Windows 98!

Windows wouldn't start up and it took about 2 hours of typing commands in DOS to identify and restore the affected files! Thanks for the information Bruce. Art Of War Pc Gratis. As I mentioned in my previous post, I went to the Hextronik web site and download the information on there. For some reason, the instructions that I got off the web site don't conform to my 036 ESC. It's beeping a much different code than the one described in that printed document. It's like it's for a different ESC or something. As for the 'USB programming stick', based on your experiences, I don't think I'll even try that.

It would be much cheaper to buy another speed control than replace my computer. I've pretty much decided that if I can't do it with my transmitter, I'm not going to do it.

I'm not sure where to go from here. It's no wonder the stuff is so cheap, they can't even put a simple page of directions in there with it to tell you how to program it.

I'm comparing this ESC to all the pages of instructions that came with my Castle Creations ESC, and there is no comparison. I'm done with this cheap Chinese crap. The money you save isn't worth the aggravation. I know, I know, most of our stuff is made in China anyway, but usually if you buy it from an American company, you have someone to talk to about your problems.
