On a slow day while cleaning up welding gear I took a good look at both helmets and no wonder the work piece was looking a little fuzzy. After scouting availability and prices I went with Cyberweld and am happy I did. The outside and inside shields I purchased as a package were a good price and shipment was well packaged and very fast.
When I changed out the old shields the new ones snapped into place perfectly. Turned on the switch on the helmets and could see clearly again. Thanks Cyberweld.
Allrighty then folks! Here's some pics on how to change the shields and the batteries on your speedglass welding helmet.(now is the time to do it, it's hollidays and my hands and nails are still clean ) The inside of the helmet with the cartridge: Now we take out the inner shield, it doesn't need replacement as often as the outer shield but it gets scratched too and dirty! Next to change the outer shield you have to take off the (silver) cover on the helmet like so: And then we can see the outside of the cartridge and the bigger shield we want to change.it's normal to find dirt even under the shield so now is the time to clean that! Now if you want to change the batteries you have to take out the cartridge like so: And on the bottom of the cartridge you will find 2 batteries: If there's still something not clear about this you can always ask me!
