I tried several searches and did not find a relevant thread. We know about the sproepedia catalogue that will let you browse creations made by other people, and we know about the pollinating content. There has been discussion regarding whether an Internet connection will be required to play the game, and if you can play in an off-line mode with the default collection of species. I'm wondering if there will be a LAN-play option. I think it would be interesting to get a group of people together with the express purpose of playing the game together and letting it cross-pollinate from each others' creations. You wouldn't have outside (potentially negative) influences, and could work together to create interesting ecosystems.

What do you think of the idea? Has anyone else considered playing Spore at a LAN? You don't actually play together though. And the game makes a behavioral model based on your play and pollinates to another's game; as far as I understand, it doesn't make a current and exact copy of your world when it does. Thing is that if it's just yourself and a group of buddies in there with your creatures, you'd have a pretty limited universe. It'd probably be full of all the premade stuff off the CD.
